Brains, brawn, and whatever it takes to win a pony hop race were all in evidence yesterday at the 5th Annual BUILD Entrepreneur Games, held at the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center in Boston. More than 1,000 participants from 60 Boston companies competed in 67 games, ranging from tug-of-war and volleyball, to sudoku and rubik’s cube, to mechanical bull riding and bubble soccer.
The overall champion was Endurance International Group, winners of 8 events. Endurance was also the event’s lead sponsor and sent the largest contingent of players. Wayfair and EY each won 6 events, and CloudHealth won 5. Piaggio Fast Forward and LevelUp teamed up to win a fiercely contested dodgeball final, while Trip Advisor had to overcome stiff competition from BUILD students from Charlestown High to win the basketball tournament. The event raised $260,000 for BUILD – a nonprofit that teaches entrepreneurship to Boston high school students.
