the build story
IN NYC

BUILD launched its transformative program in New York City in 2016. Since then, we have expanded to serve over 700 students at nine middle and high schools in all five boroughs. In 2024, our first class of BUILD alumni will graduate from college. We can’t wait to see what these remarkable young men and women will achieve.

Hamid

Hamid launched and ran one of BUILD NYC’s most successful businesses. Today, he is a junior at Columbia University.

Eddie

Through BUILD, Eddie was introduced to a new world of opportunities. Now he brings the lessons he learned to all aspects of life.

Bianca

She has developed a product called “Stress Relief Bands.” Bianca refers to herself as the “little CEO” of her BUILD NYC Student Team.

Frejoel

At first, Frejoel was a quiet student, afraid to speak English. Since BUILD, he’s grown into a confident entrepreneur.
