Google is buying all the robots. Amazon wants mini-drones to deliver goods to our doorsteps. Most wondrous of all, robots are now collaborating with each other via their very own internet. One could certainly say that 2014 is shaping up to be the Year of the Robot, and that Rodney Brooks is at the forefront of this technological shift.
Rodney is a leading roboticist and professor known for his broad application of robot intelligence. He has sent robots into oil wells, into hospitals for robotassisted surgery and even into the search and rescue mission at Ground Zero in New York City. Most recently, Rodney is known for creating Baxter (pictured above): a humanoid robot – with eyes that see and hands that touch – designed to work safely with humans at factories.
What would you like to know about the coming Robot Revolution? You can ask Rodney yourself! Rodney’s chat will support BUILD’s mission of using entrepreneurship to motivate low-income, disengaged high school students to college and career success.
