Since the start of the 22/23 school year, so much has happened at BUILD Metro DC.
From teacher training in August, new partnerships with Higher Achievement and After-School All-Stars, a Student Sales Bazaar at Roosevelt S.T.A.Y. just last month, and a meet and greet with our Board at a local business in Vienna, it has been a whirlwind time that has helped us reach more than 250 students to date. And in the second semester, we’ll be adding even more schools – reaching more than 100 additional students and bringing our yearly total to more than 350 engaged DC youth – a milestone for our region.
But before we go any further, I wanted to pause and take a moment to say, Thank You!
What we have achieved, we have achieved together. It has been with the support of our schools, volunteers, Board, donors, corporate partners, and community relationships that we have been able to achieve so much.
And while our work is not yet done, and there is still so much more to do, taking a moment to thank each and every one of you for your support is absolutely the right thing for us to do.
So, as you head into the holiday break, please take our gratitude with you and have a fantastic time with the people you love. When the new year starts, we’ll reach out to you with more opportunities to invest your time, talent, and treasure in DC youth.
Seasons Greetings,
Karleton

BUILDing Community Open House Wine Tasting & Pop-Up Shop |
On December 5th, members from our Local Advisory Board, and their guests, attended a local wine tasting and pop-up shop at the Vienna Wine Outlet in Vienna, Virginia. The event was designed to introduce guests to BUILD’s work and to raise money for students by selling curated student products to attendees. A huge thank you to Board members Andrea DiMarco and Dora Gougoufkas for sponsoring and hosting the event, and also a thank you to the Vienna Wine Outlet for donating a percentage of sales in support of DC students.
