The Program

BUILD’s Business Incubator program is an online after-school program meant to take young entrepreneurs to the next level of their entrepreneurial journey. Participants will start their own business or expand an existing business, learn new business skills, pitch their business idea in a business pitch competition, and compete for startup funding.

Once a week, all participants meet together on zoom to learn new business concepts and skills. In addition, all participants will have a business consultant available for individual or team meetings.

Students dive into videos to meet people like them dealing with problems in their communities

Students pick their client and define their biggest problem

Imagine a unique product, service or initiative

Build models of their solution to share with others

Show their proposed solutions to people and get feedback

This after-school program will initially have two cohorts: the first group will meet Tuesdays at 4:15-5:15pm.

The second group will meet Thursdays at 4:15-5:15pm. Both groups will start at the first week in January.

The Incubator is currently available to East Coast BUILD students and alumni, but there are plans to open it to ALL BUILD students. This program is focused on entrepreneurship as a pathway to success, and is best suited for students who have had some BUILD classes (though this is not a requirement), and are interested in more entrepreneurship. Alumni are welcome to attend as well.

No, they’re not. They are like office hours or optional meetings for students who wish to talk with an experienced business consultant.
