Volunteer Relationship: I will perform volunteer services for BUILD as approved and scheduled by the Executive Director. In exchange for my volunteer services, I may receive, at the discretion of BUILD, meals, transportation, and/or temporary lodging. Any meals, transportation, lodging, or reimbursement for incidental expenses that I receive from BUILD are incidental to my volunteer status and solely for purposes of my aid and sustenance. My services here-under are purely voluntary, and neither BUILD nor I intend to create any employment, consultant or independent contractor relationship now or at any time in the future.

No Right to Employment Benefits:  I will not receive any pay, health and welfare benefits, or other privileges of employment for performing the above volunteer services.  I acknowledge and affirm that I am not eligible for worker’s compensation benefits in case of any injury or illness that results from the volunteer work nor am I eligible for unemployment compensation benefits once the volunteer relationship ends.

Further, I agree that I will not, nor will I allow anyone else acting on my behalf, bring or maintain any lawsuit or other action against BUILD, its officers, directors and/or employees for any claim that I might have arising out of my participation in any activities sponsored by, sanctioned by or approved by BUILD, its officers, directors and/or employees.

Governing Law:  This document is intended to be as broad as is permissible under the law of the State of California and this agreement shall be interpreted under the laws of the State of California. If any portion of this agreement is invalid, it is agreed that the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
