Gaurav Ahuja is an investor at Thrive Capital, a venture capital firm in NYC that has supported companies like Warby Parker, Instagram, Robinhood Markets, Spotify, GitHub, and Slack. He is responsible for executing investments in growing technology companies with the goal of helping them scale and sculpt their strategy. Prior to being at Thrive, Gaurav worked in San Francisco on later stage, enterprise software investments at TA Associates, a growth private equity firm.

Gaurav was formerly a consultant with McKinsey & Co, a global consulting firm that advises management teams at Fortune 100 companies. He was part of McKinsey’s Technology, Media, and Telecom practice. Gaurav has helped guide several large technology companies with growth strategy and go to market

Gaurav was not only born and raised in Michigan but also attended the University of Michigan, where he studied pre-medical sciences and earned a B.B.A. degree with high distinction. While at the University of Michigan, Gaurav was a Head Resident Advisor in Michigan Housing and the Director of the SAAN, a non-profit group devoted to acting on and spreading awareness of social justice issues. In his free time, he enjoys watching the Detroit Pistons lose and fantasizes about the latest consumer tech gadgets.
