BUILD Boston is excited to announce that Tom Axbey, CEO of CloudHealth, has joined its Executive Committee.
“On behalf of BUILD, I am thrilled to welcome Tom Axbey, CEO of CloudHealth, to the Executive Committee of our Board of Advisors” said Roy Hirshland, CEO of T3 Advisors & Chairman of the Board of BUILD Boston. “CloudHealth has already been a great supporter of BUILD and our kids. I look forward to Tom’s energy and leadership on the board and to CloudHealth’s continued support.”
CloudHealth is a strong supporter of BUILD’s youth entrepreneurship program that serves more than 400 students across Boston, equipping them in 21st century skills and teaching them how to launch their own businesses. CloudHealth employees have participated in the annual Entrepreneur Games and mentored high school students throughout the school year.
“Boston is home to one of the world’s richest, fastest growing economies — yet even in this city, there are children who aren’t getting access to the education they deserve,” Axbey said. “As a member of Boston’s vibrant tech sector, we have an obligation to give back to the communities we serve. I can think of no better way to do that than by mentoring and partnering with local youth to ensure they enjoy a brighter future.”
Headquartered in Boston, CloudHealth is a multicloud management platform used by over 3,800 customers and partners worldwide to accelerate business transformation in the cloud. The company was recently acquired by VMware, in a move that will deliver consistent operations across VMware’s cloud portfolio and help drive its cloud strategy.
Axbey, a veteran software executive, joined CloudHealth in September of 2017 following a successful leadership run at Rave Mobile Safety, where he spearheaded the turnaround, growth and acquisition of Rave by a leading West Coast growth equity firm. Axbey had previously held executive posts at IBM, after it acquired publicly traded Micromuse where Axbey was GM & SVP America’s. Prior to Micromuse Axbey worked at VC-financed companies in the software and network management sector, guiding each to successful exits.
