Summer Research Programs – Harvard School of Public Health
Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is offering several summer research programs and summer internships for low-income and/or first-generation students and students of color in the biological sciences. Some programs are virtual, and some are in-person with a stipend and free housing included. Some programs are for rising juniors and seniors only and have a minimum GPA requirement of 3.0. Summer Programs and internships:
FACETS
Fostering Advancement & Careers through Enrichment Training in Science (FACETS) is a six-week, virtual, interdisciplinary, research-intensive summer program for rising juniors and seniors. FACETS offers a cadre of coursework, professional development, and networking opportunities to increase participants’ competitiveness for graduate school admission. Underrepresented populations are strongly encouraged to apply! FACETS program participants are paired with a research mentor and graduate student mentor to help them navigate research topics in the field of public health. Learn more here.
Summer Program in Biostatistics and Computational Biology
Enjoy Math, Statistics, and Computation? Intrigued by Big Data? Eager to Impact Public Health? Explore Biostatistics & Computational Biology at Harvard this Summer! The Summer Program in Biostatistics & Computational Biology offers diverse undergraduate students a unique opportunity to learn about the use of quantitative methods for biological, environmental, and medical research alongside Harvard faculty, researchers, and graduate students. Summer Program in Epidemiology
The Epidemiology Department is proud to offer a summer program for undergraduates from underrepresented groups to gain exposure to the field of public health through coursework, lectures, and research projects. Applicants must have a GPA of at least 3.0. Learn more here.
Summer Program in Biological Sciences and Public Health
This intensive 8 week, in-person laboratory-based biological research program is for undergraduates during the summer following their sophomore or junior years. Up to 6 internships are awarded by a competitive process. The internship culminates with a Poster Session during the final week where the interns present data in regards to the project they have been working on during the summer. The program includes a stipend and free housing. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or above. Learn More.
