BUILD PITTSBURGH ANNOUNCES THE 4 FINALIST TEAMS FOR THE SOUTHWESTERN PA YOUTH PITCH COMPETITION
The four finalists will compete for over $10,000 in prizes at BUILDFest on April 20th!

With the generous support of BNY Mellon, Comcast NBCUniversal, DonorsChoose, and the Richard King Mellon Foundation, this innovative entrepreneurship competition highlights for the second year in a row BUILD’s mission to ignite the power of youth in underserved communities to build career success, entrepreneurial mindsets and opportunity through offering real-world experiences and skills. All middle and high school students in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties are eligible to participate in this competition, and 29 teams from across the region entered.
All educators received a free, one hour professional development training session on the BUILD Design Challenge and Design Thinking Principles, and 10-hours of free curriculum to help their students implement Human-Centered Design.

PRESENTATION TIPS.
- Make eye contact with the camera
- Notecards may be used as cue cards
•Pro Tip: Notecards should avoid having a full script
- Even when you are not speaking, don’t forget the camera is still recording!
•Be aware of your body language while you and your business partners are speaking
- Everyone has an opportunity to speak
- Professional dress is encouraged
- Practice makes perfect
•Practice how you will transition from each speaker
•Project your voice when you speak
