BUILD’s 5th Annual Huddle Up 2024

BUILD’s 5th Annual Huddle Up 2024 event, held on March 5th at the SVB Experience Center in San Francisco, was a huge success thanks to our generous sponsor, SVB/First Citizen Bank! The event raised $25,000 in support of our mission to ignite the power of youth in under-resourced communities to build Career success, Entrepreneurial mindsets and Opportunity. Thanks to all our generous supporters.

“It’s my pleasure to kick off Huddle Up every year with the BUILD team, friends and the students. Every dollar raised at the event is not just a contribution; it’s an investment in the limitless potential of our youth”, said Rollins Stallworth III, California Board Member, and HuddleUp organizer. “Together, we can empower them to tackle challenges, seize opportunities, and build a future where every dream is within reach.”

BUILD students have learned entrepreneurial skills in Human-Centered Design, crafting business plans, and developing and marketing real products. Huddle Up “flipped the pitch”, positioning BUILD students as judges, where they heard product pitches developed by teams of adults from the Huddle Up guests. Guests included Venture Capitalists, Founders, student-athletes as well as current and former professional athletes. Even San Francisco 49er legend, Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott and past supporter of Huddle Up and entrepreneurship education, made an appearance and participated in an adult pitch team in front of the audience!

Throughout the evening, guests were treated to an array of wonderful product pitches, delicious fare, inspiring speakers including BUILD alumna Yazmin Padilla-Alvarez, who shared her personal BUILD experience and story of perseverance and triumph as a first generation Latina Stanford graduate, and heartfelt conversations centered around the importance of investing in our future leaders and changemakers.  Team “SnapTat” won the title of 2024 Huddle Up Champion!

At BUILD, we are creating entrepreneurial leaders and changemakers with a focus on social and economic mobility.  As we celebrate the success of Huddle Up, let us remember there is still so much work to be done, and with your continued support, we can build a brighter future for our youth through the transformative power of entrepreneurship education. We encourage you to explore the various ways to get involved with BUILD to help us make an even greater impact in the months and years ahead.
