On behalf of BUILD.org’s Board of Directors and the entire BUILD team, BUILD would like to inform our community of a transition within our senior leadership team. Thais Rezende, was appointed by the Board as Interim CEO of BUILD, effective Tuesday, 2/20/24. As you may know, Thais is already an integral part of our organization, serving as BUILD’s President with distinction since 2021. During her tenure, she has spearheaded efforts to enhance organizational impact, playing a pivotal role in the digital transformation of BUILD’s program and significantly enhancing our ability to reach thousands more educators and youth in under-resourced communities across the nation while maintaining the quality and integrity of our core model.
Thais’s deep commitment to BUILD’s mission, her exceptional leadership qualities, and her comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the communities we serve make her the ideal leader to guide BUILD during this pivotal time. Thais is fully committed to continuing progress toward our ambitious strategic vision, ensuring strength and stability as we enter BUILD’s exciting 25th Anniversary year.
Next week, Thais will represent BUILD.org at SXSW Edu Conference in Austin, TX, one of the largest and most relevant education conferences in the world. We invite you to hear Thais on the SXSW panel, “Engaging Gen Z in Socially Conscious Entrepreneurship”, featuring ASA, BUILD.org, NFTE, and WeThrive. The discussion will focus on how we can help Gen Z fulfill their entrepreneurial aspirations while adhering to their values and aiding the social causes they care about the most. BUILD’s participation in this and other SXSW panels reinforces our commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue and collaboration towards our shared objectives of social impact and empowerment.
